El legendario batería de Supertramp se ha dirigido públicamente a todos los seguidores de la banda para darles las gracias por el gran número de mensajes de reconocimiento recibidos en relación a la polémica publicación del concierto “Live in Paris 79” en DVD y blu-ray por parte de la denominada Sociedad Supertramp que forma junto a John Helliwell y Dougie Thomson.
Hola a todos… Me gustaría empezar dando las gracias por los cientos de correos electrónicos que he recibido agradeciéndonos a John, a Dougie y a mí haber publicado el DVD “Live in Paris 79”. Nos ha llevado mucho tiempo conseguirlo.
El DVD es número 1 en muchos países y se encuentra en el Top 3 a nivel mundial. Ojala pudiera decir lo mismo respecto a Norteamérica, pero no es así. Estoy seguro de que casi todos sabéis por qué.
Es bueno ver que la mayoría de vosotros os habéis dado cuenta de lo que hay detrás de los ‘furiosos’ comunicados de nuestro antiguo compañero. Hemos mantenido comunicaciones con nuestro antiguo compañero y estamos intentando arreglar nuestras diferencias.
Creo que lo único que habría conseguido que el DVD fuera mejor sería haber podido incluir más canciones de Rick. A mí me habría encantado poder ver “From now on” y “You started laughing”. Las otras también, pero sobre todo estas.
Tengo varias canciones ya finalizadas y a la espera de ser mezcladas para “The Glendale River”. Creo que suenan muy bien y tengo muchas ganas de publicarlas. Jesse ha estado muy ocupado grabando un álbum con una artista llamada Lissie. Volveremos a trabajar sobre mi disco cuando tengamos más tiempo.
A principios de Octubre voy a dar un par de conciertos con Todd Hanningan, algo que me apetece muchísimo. Tocar con Todd es una experiencia totalmente distinta, y yo disfruto un montón.
Supertramp va a ofrecer un concierto para empresas a mediados de Noviembre, y después me marcharé a México. Estoy deseando volver a meterme en el agua.

Hello everyone… I would like to start off by saying thank you for the hundreds of emails I got thanking John, Dougie and me for making the DVD “Live in Paris 79” happen. It’s taken a long time to achieve.
The DVD is #1 in many countries and in the Top 3 around the world. I wish I could say in North America as well, but can’t, and I’m sure most of you know why.
It’s good to see that most of you saw thru the ‘furious’ communications from our ex-partner. We have been communicating with our ex-partner and are trying to resolve our differences.
I think the only thing that could have made the DVD better is if there could have been more of Rick. I would have loved to have seen “From now on” and “You started laughing”. The others too, but these especially.
I have several songs finished and waiting to be mixed for “The Glendale River”. I think they sound great and am looking forward to getting them out there. Jesse has been very busy with recording a new album with an artist called Lissie. We’ll get back on it when we have more time.
I’m doing two shows early in October with Todd Hannigan and am looking forward to it. It’s a whole different thing playing with Todd and I really enjoy it.
Supertramp is doing a one off corporate show in the middle of November and then I’ll be off to Mexico. Can’t wait to get back in the water.
